Virtual Learning Environment Conditions of Use
The Virtual Learning Campus (VLE) is designed to enhance your study experience and allow you to interact with tutors and fellow students. To ensure that everyone benefits from this resource, please take note of and comply with the following conditions of use. Use of the VLE constitutes an implicit acceptance of these conditions which we reserve the right to amend from time to time. You are responsible for regularly reviewing this information and continued use of the site after changes are made constitutes your acceptance of the modified conditions. However, if important changes to these conditions are necessary we will let you know.
Your Responsibilities
Users of this site are able to post resources and/or comments in forum posts, blogs and other communication tools. This is a great feature but it does carry some responsibilities:
You must not email, post or submit any defamatory, offensive, illegal or inappropriate material to the site.
You must not submit material to the site containing viruses, worms, Trojan horses and other code that manifests contaminating or destructive properties.
If you discover any such material that breaches the above you should report it immediately to our Student Services team whose contact details can be found in the Support section of the VLC, under Useful Contacts.
You must not sell or otherwise commercially exploit any information made available on the site.
You must ensure that all copyright notices are retained in any material copied from the site.
You must not submit material to the site if a third party has any intellectual rights in that material.
By submitting any material to the site in connection with your use of the site, you must thereby assign all intellectual property rights in that material to West Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust.
You should implement sufficient procedures and checkpoints to satisfy your particular requirements for virus detection, accuracy of data input and output, and for maintaining an appropriate means for the reconstruction of any lost data.
Limitation of Liability
There
are many inherent risks involved in operating a website and
transmitting information over the internet which we try to minimise
as best we can. However, unauthorised access and faults in computer
systems and networks can and do occur which may result in the
interception, corruption, alteration, non-delivery, incorrect
delivery or loss of information transmitted over the internet.
West
Midlands Ambulance Service will not be liable for any damage
including indirect or consequential damages or any damages whatsoever
arising from use or loss of use of data or profits, whether in action
of contract, negligence or other tortuous action arising out of or in
connection with use of the site.
We cannot and do not
guarantee or warrant that any files available for downloading through
the site will be free of infection or viruses, worms, Trojan horses
and other code that manifests contaminating or destructive
properties.
You acknowledge that West Midlands Ambulance
Service is not liable for defamatory, offensive, illegal or
inappropriate content found at the site or accessed from the site,
and that any risk from such content rests entirely with you.
Availability of the VLE
The VLE is provided on an ‘as is’ and ‘as available’ basis. Whilst we commit to maintain the site to the highest possible standard, West Midlands Ambulance Service cannot warrant that the site will be uninterrupted and error free, that defects will be corrected, that the site or server are free of viruses or bugs or that the full functionality of the site is represented. Any significant planned downtime will be communicated to you in advance and any unplanned downtime will be rectified as soon as possible.
